Beta Terms
These terms cover taking part in the ClaimRush private beta — a small, invite-only test in Helsinki. They are deliberately short, because a beta with no payments and no public content does not need much governing. When ClaimRush becomes a real product, it will get real terms; these are not them.
What you're getting
ClaimRush is an unfinished app. During the beta you get access to a test build through Apple TestFlight, at no cost, for as long as the test runs.
Taking part is voluntary and unpaid. We don't pay testers, and we can't — Apple's App Review Guidelines prohibit distributing a TestFlight build in exchange for compensation of any kind.
Expect it to break
The app is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. Specifically, expect that it may crash, that runs may fail to register, that scores and rankings may be wrong or be reset, and that data may be lost. Continuous GPS tracking will also use noticeably more battery than you're used to.
Don't rely on ClaimRush as your record of a run. If a run matters to you, log it somewhere else as well.
Fair play
ClaimRush scores physical movement. The whole point of this test is to see whether competing over real ground is fun, and that only works if everyone's tiles were actually run.
Claim tiles under your own power, on foot. No cars, bikes, scooters, trains or any other vehicle. No location spoofing, mock GPS, simulators, or modified builds. Don't run someone else's account, and don't let anyone else run yours.
If we see tiles that weren't run, we'll exclude that data from the test analysis and may remove access to the beta. We'd much rather just ask you about it first — if something looks odd because of a GPS glitch rather than anything you did, tell us and it becomes a useful bug report.
Your account and what you submit
You sign in with Apple and choose a nickname and avatar. Keep the nickname something you'd be comfortable having other testers see — nothing abusive, and don't impersonate anyone. You're responsible for the feedback, screenshots and messages you send us.
You can stop at any time: leave the test in TestFlight, or delete the app. See the Privacy Notice for how to have your data deleted.
Your data
ClaimRush records your location while you run, including in the background, in order to work out which tiles you claimed. Only the 50-metre tiles reach our servers; your actual route is saved on your phone and never leaves it.
The Privacy Notice is the full account of what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed. Taking part in the beta relies on your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
How the test ends
The beta runs for a limited period. TestFlight builds stop working after at most 90 days, and we may end the test, replace the build, or remove access at any time. When the test ends the app will stop working, and you can delete it.
Nothing here obliges us to launch ClaimRush, to keep any feature you liked, or to carry your tiles, scores or ranking over into a future version. Assume they won't carry over.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms during the test, we'll email the testers before the change takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by Finnish law. Nothing in them limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.
